Dino Wars! The 19th Century Battle to Find Fossils in the Wild West with Andrew Kercher
Join local historian Andrew Kercher in diving into the thrilling and chaotic "Bone Wars" of the 1870s, when rival paleontologists Othniel Marsh and Edward Cope raced to uncover the biggest and best-preserved dinosaur fossils across the American West. Their fierce competition led to the discovery of dozens of new species, from Triceratops to Stegosaurus, and laid the foundations of modern paleontology, even as their feud became one of science's most notorious rivalries.
This program will take place at the Don Dodge Auditorium located at 200 Grand River Ave, Port Huron, MI. This venue is behind and across the street from the Port Huron/Main Branch of the St. Clair County Library System.
